Nervasystem is one of the original psytrance artists. He has released many recordings in the genre on labels such as Matsuri, Phantasm, Psychic Deli, Zion 604, Suntrip, Anjuna, Process ProdNervasystem is a cult project of British musician Mark Dressler (also known as Drezz), formed in the mid-1990s—during the golden era of classic Goa trance. From the very beginning, Nervasystem carved out a distinct niche on the scene thanks to its deep, psychedelic, and largely experimental sound, standing apart from the more straightforward, dancefloor-oriented Goa of that time.
Nervasystem’s music is built not so much around obvious climaxes, but around layered percussion, hypnotic melodies, and atmospheric progression that creates a strong sense of immersion. It is a sound designed for attentive listening and inner journeys—more “intellectual” and trippy than that of most of its contemporaries.
The project’s classic period is marked by a number of significant releases, with tracks like Initiation, Stardust, and Venusian Illusion remaining recognizable and influential among genre connoisseurs to this day.
A key characteristic of Nervasystem is that the project did not remain confined to its 90s legacy. Mark Dressler continues to actively release new music, staying true to the original aesthetic while evolving the sound within a modern context.
Throughout his career, Nervasystem has collaborated with notable figures on the scene, including Tsuyoshi Suzuki, and has released music on influential labels such as Matsuri Productions, Phantasm Records, Suntrip Records, and Zion 604.
Today, Nervasystem is rightfully regarded as one of the original Goa trance artists, whose work continues to resonate with both longtime fans of the genre and a new generation of listeners seeking a deeper and more authentic psychedelic experience.
