Dear fanatics, today we are happy to present to you a joint performance by two DJs from Croatia – true connoisseurs of underground psychedelic music, organizers of Goa Trance parties, and owners of the OH (Old House) label. In the text below, you can explore the interesting story of Old House.
The story officially began in December 2015 with the first Goawakening party in our home – Old School club, Novi Marof, Croatia. The party had one goal, to awaken the sleepy goa scene in our part of the country. It was a big success with the open minded crowd consisting of a melting pot of local folks who have never experienced a psychedelic trance party and experienced trancers from Zagreb who came to check out what is being born in this small town.
Immediately after the party it was clear that this is the beginning of a larger story. Next year, more events followed and rumors began about the special vibe of the Old School club. We decided our small collective needs a name – OH stands for Old House, a real old house near the forest belonging to an old friend. It was the place where it all began with private parties for friends in the summer of 2014 and where we continued to make afterparties for our official events.
While in the first years we were focused on classic goa sound, we believe evolution is inevitable and during the years our tastes broadened to more psychedelic and darker sounds but with an important note – no sacrificing of the initial goa originality. As organizers, we started focusing on hosting artists who do a real live performance and our allnighter Kičma vs Mrva sets became known for overcoming the genre barriers while keeping it psychedelic.
Besides making indoor parties in our residence, we started creating outdoor parties – official ones in the scope of the High Grounds Festival which we co-organized and guerrilla ones at secret locations deep in the forests surrounding our small town. We believe that psychedelic trance can be best experienced in the outdoor atmosphere, far from the cities where one can truly feel the dark intensity of the night and the healing energy of the dawn.
In recent years, the OH collective hasn’t been as active as in the beginning. We feel the momentum has changed and there’s no point in forcing the same story. However, this may also bring an opportunity for a new beginning – such as this compilation! We have carefully selected 8 tracks, only from artists who played at our parties and who represent the same musical values we believe in.
10 years have passed and we are still going on – change is the only constant!
